2 men arrested on drug charges in Pennsylvania drug raid

Law enforcement officials recently executed a raid on an apartment in Pennsylvania. A search warrant was obtained in connection with the investigation of one of the supposed residents of the apartment. When the raid was over, two men were taken into custody on drug charges and are each being held on a full $100,000 bond.

Officials claim that they entered the apartment — in which 12 people are said to reside — searching for cocaine and Ecstasy supposedly sold by one of the men in custody. Supposedly, they found a backpack containing 1,325 heroin packets. Reportedly, officials found other drugs, including crack cocaine and marijuana, razor blades and cell phones during their search.

One of the men was charged with using a cell phone for criminal purposes and possessing Ecstasy with the intent to deliver. The other man faces charges in connection with possessing heroin with the intent to deliver. The judge at their arraignment expressed his concern regarding the gravity of the claims against them, which is why he set bail in the manner he did. The preliminary hearing in the matter is currently set for March 11.

Each man is afforded the right to be presumed innocent of the drug charges. Further, Pennsylvania prosecutors must provide each man’s criminal defense counsel with all of the evidence they intend to present to the court. A thorough review of the evidence may provide a clear path for the defense since before either man can be convicted of the charges filed, guilt must be proved beyond a reasonable doubt.
